Pumpkin Rice Krispies Treats
Serves: Makes 8 Pumpkin Rice Krispies Treats
Make these simple, fun and festive Pumpkin Rice Krispies Treats for Fall and Halloween parties.
  • 6 Cups Rice Krispies
  • ¼ Cup Butter
  • 1 Bag Large Marshmallows
  • Red Food Coloring
  • Yellow Food Coloring
  • Mini KitKat Bars
  • Green M&M’s
  • Additional: Cooking Spray & Parchment Paper
  1. Pour Rice Krispies cereal into a large mixing bowl then set aside.
  2. Place of sheet of parchment paper on baking pan then set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a large microwave safe bowl on high for one minute.
  4. Pour half of the marshmallows to the bowl of melted butter then mix until the marshmallows have melted. Mix in the rest of the marshmallows and stir until well combined.
  5. Add red and yellow food coloring to the marshmallow mixture. I use a 1:3 ratio; one part red drops to three parts yellow drops. Mix well then add additional food coloring as needed to achieve orange.
  6. Pour orange marshmallow mixture over the Rice Krispies then mix until the cereal is covered. (To keep my mixing spoon or spatula from sticking too much I spray it with cooking spray first.)
  7. Form Pumpkin Rice Krispies by shaping a heaping scoop of the cereal mixture into a ball. Mine are a little bit smaller than a baseball. (Again, to keep the cereal from sticking to my hands I spray a light coat of cooking spray on them.)
  8. Place the treats onto a sheet of parchment paper or wax paper.
  9. Before the balls have set press one mini KitKat bar & a green M&M into the top of each Pumpkin Rice Krispies Treat to create a stem and leaf.
  10. Allow time for the Pumpkin Rice Krispies Treats to cool and set.
  11. Store treats in an airtight container.
