Monster Cookies Recipe

I was first introduced to Monster Cookies while celebrating mine & my husband’s first Christmas together. Since that family gathering it does not feel like Christmas until I have a batch in the oven.

Over the years I have come across recipes for Monster Cookies with slight variations. And over the years while finding just the right measurements my favorite Christmas cookie has also become my favorite “camping” cookie. One important variable for me is that at Christmas time Monster Cookies must be made with red and green M&M’s.

The perfect combination of Peanut Butter & Chocolate make up this delicious cookie.  I often make them with Reece’s Pieces and Chocolate Chips for our Annual Family Camp Trip and they are just as amazing as when they are made with M&M’s and Chocolate Chips.

Monster Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 6 Eggs
  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 cups White Sugar
  • 2 sticks of Butter (softened)
  • 2 teaspoons of Vanilla
  • 9 cups Oats
  • 4 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 3 cups Peanut Butter
  • 1.5 cups M&M’s
  • 2 cups Mini Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees then find the biggest mixing bowl you own and begin adding ingredients in order.  Beat the Eggs before adding Sugars.

Slowly add the first seven ingredients to a large mixing bowl; adding the ingredients in stages ensures manageable mixing.  After the first seven ingredients have been added and the mixture is blended well gently fold in the M&M’s and Mini Chocolate Chips until the candy pieces are distributed throughout the dough.

Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared cookie sheet; leaving at least an inch an a half of space between each cookie.

Bake 9-11 minutes or until the bottom edges of the cookies begin to turn a light golden brown. Allow the cookies to rest for two minutes on the pan before moving them to a cooling rack.

This amazing Christmas and camping cookie recipe makes 8 dozen cookies.
