Dinner made easy with just four ingredients. Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken With Brown Rice Crock Pot Recipe.
There is always a need for a simple family recipe. Am I right? Whether we are deep in the rush of the winter holidays or buried in summer vacation planning an easy and quick dinner can make a world of difference at the end of a busy day.
Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken With Brown Rice is an easy answer for a family meal year round. Three of the necessary ingredients are pantry friendly and because the chicken can be either thawed or frozen when it is cooked in the crockpot you might have the fourth ingredient in the freezer.
Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken With Brown Rice
INGREDIENTS:
4 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
1 Can Dole® Pineapple Chunks in 100% Pineapple Juice
1 1/2 Cups Kikkoman® Teriyaki Takumi, Original
1 Box Minute® Whole Grain Brown Rice
Optional: Green Onions
Step ONE:
Spray crock pot with cooking spray. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the crock pot then pour Kikkoman® Teriyaki Takumi, Original over the chicken. Drain the Pineapple Chunks from the juice. Add half of the Dole Pineapple Chunks to the crock pot and set the other half aside. Pour the Pineapple juice into the crock pot then cover and cook on low for 4 hours. (If chicken is frozen cook on low for 6 hours.)
Step TWO:
Prepare the desired amount of Minute Rice as directed on box.
Step THREE:
Plate a piece of chicken, add a serving of Minute Rice, pour a heaping spoon of the Teriyaki Sauce from the bottom of the crock pot over the chicken and rice then top with Pineapple chunks and (if desired) chopped Green Onion. Easy enough??
This isn’t the only meal made easy with Minute Rice. A dish of fluffy White Rice takes just five minutes to prepare and can compliment any meal. Minute Rice is an awesome pantry staple and a versatile foundation for meal planning especially with the option of three varieties, including Whole Grain Brown Rice, White Rice and Multi-Grain Medley.
“Awesome pantry staple” could be said for Dole Pineapple and any one of the many Kikkoman sauces, as well. If you do not already have these on your pantry shelves add them to your grocery list! All of the varieties of Dole Pineapple are packed with Vitamin C and can be used in salads, smoothies and desserts. The variety of Kikkoman Sauces will all add a flavorful Asian flair to any recipe. I found all three of these pantry friendly ingredients at my neighborhood Fry’s Food Store (Kroger) on aisles three and four.
