Pumpkin Rice Krispies Treats
Ingredients
1/4 Cup Butter
1 Bag Large Marshmallows
Red Food Coloring
Yellow Food Coloring
Mini Kit Kat Bars
Green M&M’s
Additional: Cooking Spray & Parchment Paper
Directions
-
- Pour Rice Krispies cereal into a large mixing bowl then set aside.
- Place of sheet of parchment paper on baking pan then set aside.
-
-
- Melt butter in a large microwave safe bowl on high for one minute.
- Pour half of the marshmallows to the bowl of melted butter then mix until the marshmallows have melted. Mix in the rest of the marshmallows and stir until well combined.
-
-
-
- Add red and yellow food coloring to the marshmallow mixture. I use a 1:3 ratio; one part red drops to three parts yellow drops. Mix well then add additional food coloring as needed to achieve orange.
-
-
-
- Pour orange marshmallow mixture over the Rice Krispies then mix until the cereal is covered. (To keep my mixing spoon or spatula from sticking too much I spray it with cooking spray first.)
-
-
-
- Form Pumpkin Rice Krispies by shaping a heaping scoop of the cereal mixture into a ball. Mine are a little bit smaller than a baseball. (Again, to keep the cereal from sticking to my hands I spray a light coat of cooking spray on them.)
- Place the treats onto a sheet of parchment paper or wax paper.
-
- Before the balls have set press one mini Kit Kat bar & a green M&M into the top of each Pumpkin Rice Krispies Treat to create a stem and leaf.
-
-
- Allow time for the Pumpkin Rice Krispies Treats to cool and set.
- Store treats in an airtight container.
