Simple Thanksgiving Cookies

Before you begin count the number of candy eyeballs you have on hand. There are approximately 60 candy pieces in the .88 ounce package of Betty Crocker candy eyeballs which will make 30 adorable OREO Turkey Thanksgiving Cookies.

Ingredients:

Directions:

Begin by preparing a cookie sheet with wax paper then place the OREO cookies on the pan.

Then count out 5 candy corn pieces, 1 wafer and 1 chocolate (or peanut butter) chip for each cookie and set them aside.

Next, pour white chocolate chips into a small microwave safe bowl and heat it on high for 30-45 seconds. Remove the bowl from the microwave then stir until the chocolate is smooth. (If needed, heat for an additional 10 seconds then stir.)

The first step to transforming OREOs into adorable edible turkeys is to add the candy corn feathers. Dip the white tip of a candy corn piece into the melted chocolate then gently press the candy in between the cookie sandwich. Be very careful not to push the candy corn in too far. Repeat this step until each cookie has 4-5 candy corn feathers.

After the candy corn pieces are in place use the melted chocolate to secure the Nilla wafers in the center of the OREO then do the same to secure the candy eyeballs. I use a straw to dot the back of each eyeball with melted chocolate before placing them onto the wafer.

Finally, give your Thanksgiving turkey cookies a beak by adding a chocolate or peanut butter chip under the eyes. Simply dip the flat side of the chip into the melted chocolate then press one chip under each set of eyes.

Allow time for the chocolate to set then serve and enjoy!
