This. This right here is a must have recipe. Chocolate Dipped Caramel Stuffed Pretzels. Does it get any better than this? They are sweet & salty and they pair well with the holidays, football games and movie night.
Chocolate Dipped Caramel Stuffed Pretzels
Caramel Squares (1 bag)
Square Snap Pretzels (3/4 bag)
Chocolate Chips (1 1/2 cups any variety)
Unwrap all of the Caramel Squares. (Try not to eat too many while unwrapping them!) Then slice each Caramel Square down the middle lengthwise to create a thinner slice of Caramel.
Once all of the Caramels are opened and cut, preheat oven to 350* and cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Layer a Square Pretzel with one piece of Caramel on the pan. (My pan holds 70 which works out because that is exactly how many the boys left during the unwrapping and cutting stage.)
Bake for four minutes, then check Caramels to see if they have softened. They will need to be soft & sticky enough to secure a Pretzel on top. If needed, return the pan to the oven and bake for one minute before checking them again. I bake mine for six minutes total however the time will likely vary depending on the oven (gas or electric).
Remove pan from the oven and top Caramel with another Pretzel to create a sandwich. Softly press the top Pretzel into the Caramel. Once all the Pretzels have been made into sandwiches place the pan in the fridge or freezer to cool.
After the Caramel stuffed Pretzels have cooled, melt the Chocolate Chips in a microwave safe bowl. Heat Chocolate Chips in the microwave on high for 1 minute, stir then heat for another 30 seconds. Continue to heat and stir until all the Chocolate has melted and is smooth.
Hand dip the Caramel Stuffed Pretzels into the melted chocolate then place them back on the baking sheet to cool. (I dip mine about half way.)
After all the Caramel Stuffed Pretzels have been dipped in Chocolate place the pan back in the fridge or freezer until Chocolate is set.
Serve Caramel Stuffed Chocolate Dipped Pretzels at room temperature. Enjoy!
