Create simple Valentine or anniversary decor with upcycled wine corks. Wine Cork Valentine Heart Decor.
It is no secret that I enjoy upcycling, especially with wine corks. However, as much as I like creating with wine corks I am not much of a wine drinker. Fortunately for me, I happen to know a few wine connoisseurs who are kind enough to save their wine corks for me.
Wine Cork Valentine Heart Decor
SUPPLIES:
- Wine Corks (approximately 28)
- Craft Paint
- Hot Glue Gun
- Wide Ribbon
- Free Printable Heart Pattern
DIRECTIONS:
Begin by printing my free printable Heart Pattern. Place the pattern on a hard surface then stand the wine corks on the heart shape paper pattern. The number of wine corks needed will change based on their placement whether you are standing them inside, outside or on the outline. (I used 28 wine corks for my wine cork Valentine heart decor.)
Next, paint the ends of wine corks your desired color then allow them to dry completely. (A quick and easy way to apply the paint to the wine corks is to dip them; see this post.)
Next use hot glue to attach the wine corks together; the pattern makes a great guide while gluing. I added glue and placed each wine cork on the pattern to ensure my heart still looked like a heart upon completion.
After the hot glue has dried place a ribbon through the inside of the open heart. Finally, hang your Wine Cork Valentine Heart Decor or share a little love by giving this festive decor to someone special.

Trish, I looked up the E6000 glue online. There seem to be a few types available. Could you be more specific regarding the type? I love your craft and would be so happy to get this to work. Thx!
This is the one that I have used for other projects: https://amzn.to/2llVRW6 🙂
What a cute idea. Went to our favorite winery and the owner gave me a bag of corks. Having so much fun doing it. I put Glitter Ice paint on top of the red to make it sparkle. Thanks
Ohhh… I bet it turned out beautiful! I’m so glad that you enjoyed making it. Cheers ~ Trish
Any problems getting the corks to stay together? Used a hot glue gun and it’s continuously breaking
Hi Mary!
I have not had any trouble with my wine cork heart. Even after storing it in the hot garage for a year. I’m sorry to hear yours is not holding. 🙁
Have you ever heard of E6000 glue? If you happen to have that I would be it would hold even better than the hot glue.
Thanks I will try it. Also wondered if it had to do with the type of cork. Some are real cork and some are plastic like and smooth. Maybe the smooth ones doesn’t adhere as well as the true cork??
Oh… I bet you are right about that.
What a great idea! This would be super cute hanging off a pantry door…..I guess I should start keeping all of my wine corks so I can make this!
Thank you for sharing at the Wednesday Roundup! I’ve pinned and will share on fb later today! Happy Friday!
