The union of Cream Cheese and Jalapeños is a pair that I consider one of the best flavor combinations EVER. And by combining those two ingredients, I have come up with the best Wontons EVER.
Wonton Jalapeño Poppers Recipe
SUPPLIES:
- Cutting Board
- Knife
- Small Mixing Bowl
- Whisk
- Baking Sheet
- Aluminum Foil
- Cooking Spray
INGREDIENTS:
- 36 Wonton Wrappers
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (1 block)
- 5-6 Jalapeños (or 36 slices)
- 1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1 Egg
- 2 Tablespoons Water
- Olive Oil
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare a baking sheet by spraying it with a light layer of Cooking Spray. In a small bowl beat an Egg and a couple tablespoons of Water with a Whisk to create an Egg Wash.
Lay out Wonton Wrappers on a cutting board or wax paper (10 at a time or however many fit on your surface). Cut the Cream Cheese block into 36 squares and slice the Jalapeños.
Place one square of Cream Cheese on each Wonton Wrapper, top that with a Jalapeño slice and sprinkle with Cheese.
Dip fingers into the Egg Wash then gently press the corners of wrapper closed to seal each Wonton Jalapeño Popper. Then use a Basting Brush to lightly coat each Wonton with Olive Oil.
Bake Wontons for 10-12 minutes or until the edges begin to brown. Remove pan from the oven and serve warm.
