Create a festive and versatile tabletop caddy that doubles as a utensil holder with this simple DIY Party Decor Terracotta Pot tutorial.
Where do you place your utensils when you host a festive summer BBQ or Patriotic holiday party? If you are anything like me an empty mason jar or plastic cup can quickly become an impromptu utensil caddy. That works perfectly! But I have another almost as simple solution that can be created in party theme coordinating colors. Of course, if it is a summer party those red plastic cups work great with patriotic BBQs, am I right?
Scratch that, if you have 30 minutes this DIY Party Decor Terracotta Pot looks amazing in red, white and blue. It costs less that $5 to create, it’s uses are versatile and it doesn’t have to be made patriotic. Anything goes!

- Clear Acrylic Sealer Spray
- Letters or other embellishments, if desired
Begin by painting your DIY party decor your desired color. Fortunately, the paint dries fast on the terracotta surface. If desired, spray a coat of acrylic sealer spray onto the painted pot. Allow a few minutes for your pot to dry before moving onto the next step.
Next add any ribbon(s) to the outside of the pot. Simply wrap the ribbon around the pot and secure it onto the surface with a dot of hot glue. Then add any letters or embellishments by gluing them onto the ribbon. I like to hide the seam on my ribbons with the added accessories.
Finally, get the party started! Fill up your DIY Party Decor Terracotta Pot with utensils, straws, flowers, flags or whatever your heart desires.
