Question: Is the dishwasher clean or dirty?
Time and time again I have seen magnetic dishwasher signs that I would love to take home. However, buying a magnetic dishwasher sign will get me nowhere. The question will remain; is the dishwasher clean or dirty?
Like many others, our dishwasher does not have a magnetic front which led me to raiding my husbands garage, creating a printable (in four color options) and making my own (magnet-less) dishwasher sign.
DIY Dishwasher Sign
Clean Dirty Mason Jar Lid

SUPPLIES:
- Small Damage Free Hook
- 2 Mason Jar Lids (just the cap piece)
- Jute (or another type of string/ribbon)
- Dishwasher Clean Dirty Printable Sign (four font colors available)
- Printer
- Printer Paper
- Foam Paint Brush
- Mod Podge
- Clear Acrylic Coating Spray
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
DIRECTIONS:
Print my free printable DIY dishwasher sign then cut out the desired color clean circle and dirty circle. (Follow the instructions below to access the printable.)
Use the sponge paint brush to add a thin layer of Mod Podge to the shiny (top) side of one mason jar lid then press either the clean or dirty printable onto the lid. Follow the same steps for the other lid with the remaining printed circle then allow the glue a few minutes to dry.
After the glue has dried spray a layer of clear acrylic sealant over the paper side of the lid to create a waterproof barrier. Allow time for the spray to dry then cut a short piece of jute, create a loop with it then secure it to the backside of one of the lids. Make sure the loop is near the top of the words then add hot glue to the backside of the other lid then press the backs of the lids together.
Finally, add a damage free hook to the front of your dishwasher and hang your DIY dishwasher sign; aka the answer to that age old question.
This sign could easily be made into two signs with magnets on the backs of each one.
