There comes a day sometime after December 25th in which the Christmas tree comes down and the the decorations get packed up. But what about that pile of lovely Christmas greetings? I mean you can’t just throw them away!! Or can you? How to Save Christmas Cards.
Have you seen the idea of attaching a binder ring to a stack of Christmas cards? Those are super cute! Of course, there are a few ideas out there that are just as cute but regardless how cute they are at some point they will end up in a closet somewhere never to be seen again. Therefore, I opt for the no clutter way to save cards. The bonus to saving cards THIS way is that I do see them again.
How to Save Christmas Cards
To save those lovely cards I simply snap a picture of each card with my cell phone. I then assign every card to the respective contact in my phone. After selecting the new photo (Christmas card) that will appear I throw away those beautiful faces filled with Christmas spirit.
So the answer is YES, you CAN just throw them away. In fact, if you have an iPhone you can even delete them after syncing your phone just once after assigning the image to your contact.
For years I kept that annual stack of Christmas cards. And for years I never looked back at them one time. By saving the cards in my phone I get to enjoy the cards all year long. Of course, there are a few that I pull out and frame but the majority land in the trash. (And the truth is I still feel guilty about that part.)
If you’d prefer not to replace the already perfect picture you have assigned to a contact you can still save your cards free of clutter. Save them electronically in a folder on your phone, computer, Google Drive or Dropbox.
