The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, or so ‘they’ say. They happen to be right when it comes to the three fellas that I live with. And this time of the year I find my way to their hearts with individually wrapped festive Valentine Heart Cookie Bars.

Valentine Heart Cookie Bars

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees then prepare an 8×8 or 9×9 pan with Parchment Paper.

Melt butter, add it to a medium size mixing bowl. Allow a couple minutes for the butter to cool before adding the Egg & Vanilla to the bowl. Beat until the wet mixture is smooth.

Add Wheat and Sugar to the bowl then mix until well combined. Fold in 1 1/2 cups of M&Ms.

Pour batter into prepared pan then flatten with a spatula or the back of a spoon to create an even top. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of M&Ms on the top of batter then lightly press the M&Ms down.

Bake at 350* for 25-30 minutes or until the cookie bar passes the ‘toothpick test’. Allow cookie bar to cool completely then remove it from the pan by picking up the Parchment Paper.

Cut the giant cookie into heart shapes with a heart shaped cookie cutter then place the Valentine M&M Cookie Bar Hearts into treat bags and tie with a ribbon. Share this sweet Valentine!

  • 1 Cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
  • 1 3/4 Cup M&Ms, divided
  • 1 Stick Butter
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/3 Teaspoons Vanilla
