BOO! As I have mentioned before, there is a pint size person at our house that does not like “spooky scary”. My little guy loves every bit of decorating for Halloween as long as it isn’t scary. Easy enough.
A fun and festive Boo Halloween Wall Hanging was in order and it now hangs in his playroom. He absolutely loves it! Of course, he did select the Halloween print along with the orange tulle that his BOO sign hangs from; so he should love it.
Supplies needed to create a BOO Halloween Wall Hanging:
B-O-O Cardboard Craft Letters
Mod Podge
Paint Brush for Glue
Scrapbook Paper
Scissors
Tulle
Begin by laying the “B” upside down on the back side of the scrapbook paper. Trace the inside holes then do the same for the “O”s.
Without creasing the paper, hold the paper in a gentle fold then cut a slit inside each of the drawn holes. Cut a few slits all the way to the drawn line around the inside of each letter. This will create an easy way to fold the paper when covering the letter.
One letter at a time; use a paint brush to add a layer of Mod Podge on the front sides of the letter. Lay the letters upside down on the backside of the traced paper. Carefully fold the paper around the edges of each letter.
Brush on a layer of Mod Podge to the edges and the backs of letters (any place the paper will touch). “Wrap” the letters by creating folds in the paper to ensure a smooth edge. Secure the paper with glue as needed.
After the glue is dry, flip the letters over and brush an even layer of Mod Podge onto the front sides. Using straight strokes, brush the length of each letter.
Attach letters with Tulle by looping the Tulle through two letters and tying knot. Add Tulle to the “B” and tie a bow, leaving slack for hanging. Move all knots to the back of the letters before hanging.
Three letters and a little creativity are all it takes to make a Boo Halloween Wall Hanging!
The letters could be covered with paper or fabric; another option would be to paint wood letters. Whether the Boo Halloween Wall Hanging is tied together with tulle, string, twine or ribbon it will make for a fun & festive decoration.
