Instructions

  1. Begin by unwrapping all of the individual Caramel Squares. (Try not to eat too many while unwrapping them!) Then slice each Caramel Square down the middle lengthwise to create a thinner slice of Caramel.

  2. After you have opened and cut all of the caramels preheat oven to 350* degrees then cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. Place a layer of pretzels on the prepared baking sheet then top each pretzel with one Caramel square. (My pan holds 70 which works out because that is exactly how many the boys left during the unwrapping and cutting stage.)

  4. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake the partial treats for four minutes at 350* degrees. After four minutes, check the caramels to see if they have softened. They will need to be soft & sticky enough to secure a Pretzel on top. If needed, return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional minute before checking them again. Mine typically require 5-6 minutes baking time; however, the time will vary depending on the oven (gas or electric).

  5. Remove the pan from the oven and top the caramels with another pretzel to create a sandwich. Gently press the top pretzel into the caramel. Once all the pretzels have been made into sandwiches place the pan in the fridge or freezer to cool.

  6. After the caramel stuffed pretzels have cooled completely remove the chilled pan then pour the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Heat chocolate chips in the microwave on high for 1 minute, stir then return the bowl to the microwave and heat the chips for another 30 seconds. Continue to heat and stir until all of the chocolate has melted and is smooth.

  7. Hand dip the Caramel Stuffed Pretzels into the melted chocolate then place them back on the baking sheet to cool. (I dip mine about half way.)

  8. After all the Caramel Stuffed Pretzels have been dipped in Chocolate place the pan back in the fridge or freezer until Chocolate is set.

  9. Serve Caramel Stuffed Chocolate Dipped Pretzels at room temperature. Enjoy!
