Sweet & simple Caramel Popcorn that can be made chewy or crunchy in very little time. My favorite Carmel Popcorn Recipe.
If you could only have one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? I would have a hard time choosing between chips & salsa or popcorn; however, add the ingredients for caramel popcorn and it’s settled.
This recipe for caramel popcorn is easy to make and absolutely amazing to eat. But before we get to the recipe I have a question for you; do you call it carmel or caramel?
My Favorite Carmel Popcorn
Simple Caramel Popcorn Recipe
Ingredients:
- 10 Cups of Popped Popcorn
(I pop 1/2 Cup of Kernels in 3 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil.)
- 1 Cup of Brown Sugar
- 1 Stick of Butter
(I use Butter without Salt AND add Sea Salt later.) - 1/4 Cup Karo Syrup
- 1/2 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
- 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
- Teaspoon of Sea Salt
Directions:
Begin by popping popcorn then set it aside. Next prepare a baking sheet with wax paper and prepare a large mixing bowl by coating it with cooking spray. Set both of them aside.
Add brown sugar, butter and Karo syrup to a saucepan then heat over medium.
Once the brown sugar mixture reaches a medium boil, remove from heat then add baking soda & vanilla to the mixture. Stir it until it reaches a “foam like” consistency.
Pour popcorn and caramel mixture into the prepared mixing bowl and fold it with a spatula until the popcorn is covered in caramel.
Spread the caramel popcorn on the wax paper then sprinkle sea salt all over it.
If you like your Caramel Corn “Chewy” then you are ready to enjoy! However, if you prefer “Crunchy” Caramel Corn follow this step:
OPTIONAL; Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Spray a large cookie sheet with cooking spray then spread caramel popcorn onto the cookie sheet. Bake caramel popcorn for one hour.
How do you prefer your Popcorn? Butter & Salt? Cheese? Drizzled in Chocolate? If your favorite includes Marshmallows, Candy and comes in the shape of a ball, check out my Candy Popcorn Ball Recipe. I would love to hear all about your favorite way to enjoy Popcorn in the comments below. AND is it carmel or caramel?
