There are just a few supplies required to create an upcycled Wine Cork Pumpkin DIY festive fall decor.
I absolutely love repurposing wine corks and thankfully I know a few wine drinkers who generously save their corks for me to upcycle. This incredibly simple festive creation is just one of the several upcycled wine cork creations that I adore. Scroll to the bottom of this post to see some of the others!
Wine Cork Pumpkin
DIY Fall Decor
SUPPLIES
- 40-50 Wine Corks (number based on size)
- Orange Craft Paint
- Glue Gun
- Glue Sticks
- Green Raffia or Ribbon
If desired: Green Craft Paint
INSTRUCTIONS
Begin by creating a pumpkin shape with wine corks to ensure that you have the number of corks needed for the size of pumpkin that you are creating. (I used 44 upcycled wine corks along with a Patron cork for the stem of my fall decor.)
Next, paint the ends of your wine corks orange. Rather than use a paint brush I poured a little bit of orange paint onto a paper plate then pressed the corks into the paint as if I were using stamps. I painted both ends of all 44 corks so that my pumpkin would look great from both sides.
After the paint has dried on the corks place them back into the shape of a pumpkin. Next hot glue the corks together beginning with the bottom of the Pumpkin to ensure you are able to stand it on a flat surface. Continue to glue each cork into the shape of a pumpkin.
Then add a wine cork (or Patron cork) to the top of your fall decor to create a pumpkin stem. (If desired, paint it green.)
Finally, when the hot glue has dried and the wine corks are secure in the shape of a pumpkin wrap and tie your green raffia or ribbon around the diameter your Wine Cork Pumpkin stem.
